Booking and preparing a party

FUN WITH FIMO CLAY PARTY DETAILS

Here is all the information you would require when considering a Fun with Fimo Party.
Don't hesitate to call me if you have any further questions.

Length of party
I recommend that the activity itself lasts for a minimum of two hours, as any less than this would not be enough time to fit in a short rule session, choice of colours and the step by step lesson in how to make the chosen item/s. For older children, you are welcome to book a longer session which allows time to tackle a more ambitious project.
You should invite the children to arrive 15 minutes before we are due to start and allow at least 45 minutes after the activity finishes for them to have their lunch or tea.

Number of children
The number of children to invite is entirely up to you. It should be governed however by the number you can comfortably fit around your table (or tables pushed together) If the children are very young or the number is above 12, I do ask that you be prepared to be a bit more "hands on" as it is not possible for me to help everyone at once! If you prefer, I can bring along an assistant at the additional charge of £40. Just let me know how many you are planning to invite when you make the booking and I will let you know if this may be required.

How to choose what to make
Because the session is taught step by step, the children do all have to make the same item. There is however always a chance to be individual with a wide range of colours to choose from. Simply go to the sections on the menu below and be guided by the age categories. Also, on the home page, scroll down to the gallery sections and recent projects to see some more new ideas which you may be interested in. Please note, that some of the items featured have been made on one of my whole day workshops, so would not be suitable to fit into a party session. For this reason it is a good idea to call me with a short list of several possibilities and I can then advise which one will best suit your particular group. (Please note, the photos scroll vertically across the screen, simply click on the bar at the bottom.)

What you need to provide
You are responsiblefor providing the party lunch/tea.
Some address sized sticky labels, with their names on. (A large one for them to wear and two smaller ones to label their work and their bag or box) Also, a cardboard box to take their item home in. If you wish, I can now provide plain white cardboard "cake boxes" for 40p each, which are the correct size for most projects. Please let me know if this will help and you would like me to bring these along.

How much does itcost?
The party costs £75 per hour (this is an hourly charge for the two or more hours that I am actually teaching the children, not from the moment I arrive to the time I leave.) Plus a charge of £12 per child, this covers the materials together with the preparation that I have to do at home, prior to the party. Any parking or Congestion charge will be added at the current rate for venues within the controlled zones. Alternatively, if you live outside London there is also a travel allowance of 45p per mile, plus a charge of £10 per hour spent driving there and back, for my self and also for any additional assistants.

If the number of children attending goes above 12, you may prefer, or depending on the chosen project, it may be necessary to have an assistant or two. This would be charged at an additional £40 per helper.

Fimo clay in the party bag
If you wish, the children could also take home some Fimo clay to use another time. This makes an ideal party bag gift. I can arrange a small selection of colours together with full baking instructions and some project sheets. Prices start from around £5.00 per child for ¼ of a block of four different colours which includes a £1 handling fee and increases by £1 per additional ¼ block of clay. The bag will include full instructions for use and baking together with some simple project sheets for inspiration.

How to book
If you would like to book a party, contact me in good time, as the weekends do get booked up very fast. We will arrange a date and I request a £75 deposit cheque or transfer to secure the booking. The remaining balance due is payable preferably in cash on the day of the party. Please make deposit cheques payable to Clare McKnight and send to 95 Shakespeare Road, Acton, London. W36SB or make a transfer to the following account, using your name as a reference and please let me know when to look out for it, so that I can confirm it's safe arrival.
