FIMO 50
2016 has seen a year long celebration of the 50th birthday of Fimo clay. As this is the brand of Polymer clay that I use, I thought it fitting to submit an entry to a collaboration they were running for Fimo users all over the world. I work every Monday with a class of 20 girls from Notting Hill and Ealing Primary school. They are aged between 7 and 11 years.

We were asked to design a tile made entirely of clay, measuring 10 x 10cm, which depicted the world around us in any way we chose. I decided to divide my class of 20 girls into five groups, each group working on a different part of the world from under the sea to outer space. The pictures above show the wonderful work they produced over three one hour classes.  The tiles were then sent off to Staedtler head office. In total there were 696 tiles from 41 countries which has helped to raise 16,008 euros for their two chosen charities. I think you will agree that this is an amazing total and the girls should be very proud of the small part they played in this.
